hed.chip - the device programmer ...
... for the next millennium
hed.chip - universal device
programmer
Manufacturer declaration:
hed.chip - universal device
programmer is suited for the year 2000 and beyond without restriction.
It complies to the rules developed by BSI DISC concerning the year 2000
conformity. BSI DISC has developed and published set of four rules that
can be used to measure the conformity ("A definition of year 2000
conformity requirements", PD2000-1, January 1997).
| No. |
Name |
Explanation |
| 1 |
general integrity |
No value for current date will cause
any interruption in operation |
| 2 |
date integrity |
Date-based must behave consitently for
dates prior to, during and after the year 2000. |
| 3 |
explicit/implicit century |
In all interfaces and data storage, the
century in any date must be specified either explicitly or by
unambiguous algorithms or interecing rules. |
| 4 |
leap year |
Year 2000 must be recognized as a leap
year. |
There is no processing of dates in the software for hed.chip. The
current date of the computer or the date-of-last-change of files do not
effect the operation of the device programmer. Therefore, the software
meets all requirements quoted in the four rules for Y2k conformity
without restriction.
Beyond the rules:
Year 2000 conformity may require that updates of the operating system
and/or other software products are installed. The software for hed.chip
is continually being tested using the latest releases of Windows 98 and
Windows NT. This is done to make certain that no Y2k update of another
product will adversely effect the operation of the programmer.
